Student Cumulative Records Management System
The
Student Cumulative Records Management System from Intersect Marketing
Inc. is a Windows-based database manager designed to assist with the management
of student cumulative records folders, including organization, storage, and
location and retrieval of folders.
Windows
95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, and XP Compatible
with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000,
and Windows XP. the Student Cumulative Records
Management System is designed to provide extensive and convenient information to
the Records Management Officer.
Data Entry
Designed for data entry at multiple school or other
sites, using formatted data entry screens. Data entered is automatically saved
to files on each computer’s hard drive. Periodically, data can be copied to
diskettes which can be sent to a central location, where a merge function
combines all collected student cumulative folder data into a single master file.
Backing Up Data
Backups and archiving of data files are supported through two options: storage
of backup data on floppy disks at each school site or other installation of the
Student Cumulative Records Management System, and maintenance of a central
master file consisting of all combined student cumulative record data at one or
more central locations. In addition to the functions for file maintenance and
updating built into the Student Cumulative Records Management System
application, Windows file manager, or Windows Explorer, can be used to create
and maintain backups on internal hard drives, writeable optical media, and
off-line storage on diskettes, tape cartridges, optical media, or special
devices such as Zip and Jazz drives as well as other similar external hard drive
devices.
Based on a state-of-the-art relational database engine, the
Student Cumulative Records Management System can support single data files of up
to 1 gigabyte in contiguous length. However, because numerous attached files can
be supported, the total size of a supported database is limited only by the
available storage capacity of the computer system or network server.
Merge Safeguards A
special "Merge One Time Only" safeguard is built in to the Student Cumulative
Records Management System. When a diskette of student cumulative folder data
from a school other other site is sent to a central location so that the data
can be merged into the master student cumulative data file, the diskette is
encoded at the completion of the merge process to prevent inadvertent merging of
data more than once.
Locate Student Cumulative Folders
The Student Cumulative Records Management System is
designed to facilitate location of individual student cumulative records folders
through student name or student ID. Sorting and grouping options allow the user
to select appropriate data presentations on-screen as well as in printed
reports. A find function allows rapid searching of the entire database. A search
can be specified for any displayed field, such as student last name, student
first name, student ID, school name, or birth date.
Printed Reports The
Student Cumulative Records Management System produces a variety of pre-formatted
printed reports, including: All students, sorted alphabetically; all students
sorted storage container ID; only graduates; and non-graduates only.
