Intersect Announces Retention Plus / Records Plus

Intersect Systems has recently announced new versions of its software for retention schedule development and maintenance, and for records management. The new versions are designed for smaller organizations that may not need the full records management capabilities of the standard Intersect Systems software. The new software, Retention Plus / Records Plus, installs as an integrated application set with linkage automatically established for communication between the Retention Plus and Records Plus sections. This linkage allows convenient transfer of records control schedules created with the Retention Plus section into the Records Plus section, for use in calculating destroy dates in accordance with the control schedule when creating new container entries in the records database.

In addition, Retention Plus / Records Plus includes a new easy-to-use point-and-click data back-up functions that allows you to back up your data while running the application.

Retention Plus / Records Plus also includes the new Intersect Systems export function that supports

publishing your control schedule or your records database on the Internet or on a private intranet. This feature operates in conjunction with Microsoft Office 97 or 2000 to generate a special output file that can be easily converted to an html file for incorporation into a web page.

A new bar code look-up function allows convenient look-up of containers using a bar code wand. The document check-in function also uses this new bar code look-up feature.

When creating new container records, the Intersect Systems Destroy Date Calculator uses destroy dates you encode in your master control schedule you create with Retention Plus to calculate the earliest acceptable destroy date, and to insert it in your container record.

Retention Plus / Records Plus
also incorporates the RCAMS Query Builder to quickly locate a container with a particular document, using any of the data fields, or a combination of data fields. You can name and save the queries you use frequently, and recall them without having to re-create them again next time!
