Intersect Releases RCAMS Version 11
Intersect Systems has released the new RCAMS Version 11 of the Records Control and Management System software. RCAMS Version 11 contains three significant new features:
(1) A second level of database entries, for entering contents such as folders within containers, is now included. Use of this feature is optional; folders can be entered for any container at any time, and need be entered only as necessary. Query and search functions are included for folders or contents within a specified container. Global searches and queries are supported for container contents, just as they are currently for containers; a global search option will search all folders in all containers for a folder, as well. In addition, searches or queries for folders within a subset of containers defined by a container query are also supported. This new feature has been added at the request of several users who need to track contents of selected containers in the RCAMS database.
(2) Group processing of containers to be destroyed has been added. RCAMS 11 allows a group of containers to be destroyed to be selected in a single operation, based on destroy date, and then the group can be processed at one time and moved to the destroyed list. Sign-off sheets are processed for each container in the group at the same time. This feature has been added to RCAMS 11 at the request of several users.
(3) Intersect Systems has released a new portable version of RCAMS 11 (see the related announcement). RCAMS 11 set-up parameters can be transferred to RCAMS 11 Portable without having to re-enter them in the portable version, using a new feature in RCAMS 11. RCAMS 11 also supports merging of container data collected with RCAMS 11 Portable into the central container database maintained in RCAMS 11. Contact Intersect for more information.
In addition to the new features listed, a new data conversion utility from Intersect can move data from conventional databases or for imaged documents into RCAMS 11, to allow the use of the RCAMS query functions in locating documents, and for applying the RSM retention control functions to a records database.
