Now available from Intersect Systems, RCAMS 11 / Portable is a new version of Intersect’s Records Control and Management System software designed to be used on laptop or portable computers running Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, or 2000. RCAMS 11 / Portable supports remote-site data entry of containers and folder data, and subsequent merging of the entered container and folder data in RCAMS / Portable into the master RCAMS database files in RCAMS 11. Merging is accomplished through a diskette, zip disk, or docking station. The merging process includes a safeguard to prevent data loss, providing temporary storage of container data collected with RCAMS 11 / Portable until the data is successfully merged into the central RCAMS 11 database. |
RCAMS 11 set-up parameters can be imported into RCAMS 11 / Portable, avoiding the need to re-enter these. This insures that initialization information and configuration parameters a user has set in the full version of RCAMS 11, as well as the user’s Retention Control Schedule, can be copied into RCAMS 11 / Portable without the need for re-entry. The Retention Control Schedule can be re-imported into RCAMS 11 / Portable as often as revisions are made. For RCAMS 10 users, a minor data file modification is required for upgrading; on request Intersect will arrange to make this change to a customer’s current database, and provide the upgrade to RCAMS 11.
